cheval mirror
£475 - Now Sold
An eye-catching cheval mirror, originally used in a gents’ outfitters, so the mirror is generously proportioned. The fixed (i.e. non-tilting) design is very rare. Most likely dating from the 1940s, the mirror has a broad base with cabriole legs, and really pleasing curved corners to the mirror frame.
There are a few small scratches on the mirror, - just normal age-related type of wear and tear, and nothing that would affect usage of the mirror.
The upper mirror section is bolted to the base, so can be removed for transport.
Base – 84 cm wide x 38 cm deep
Total height – 178 cm
Mirror (glazed) area – 61 cm wide x 142 cm high
