High back armchair

An unusual show-wood Edwardian chair, which has been re-upholstered recently (not by us) in a vibrant blue striped fabric. The quality of the upholstery is very good, and the fabric is virtually pristine, with no obvious marks or staining. The oak frame has been painted at some point, but has been stripped and left in that raw finish, rather than waxed and polished, giving the chair a very rustic feel. The paint finish has been retained under the armrest pads, which is an unusual detail. The circle carvings and curved finials on the wood at the back, the quirky finish and the little castors make this a very characterful, decorative chair. The frame is very solid and sturdy with turned front legs.
