Matthew Hilton Auberon dining table
Matthew Hiltons’ furniture has been described as ‘antiques of the future’, and that could well be the case with the classic Auberon dining table, which he designed in the early 1990s. The boat-like curves of the drop leaves, and the simple but effective detailing, such as the rounded edges to those curves, the concealment of the hinges and the slim, slightly flared legs, make this table an extremely elegant piece. There is considerable wear and tear to the table top, so it requires French polishing to restore the original finish, but it is otherwise in good, sturdy condition.
