19th century elm dresser base

£625

A large plank top elm dresser base, which would be ideal as a server table. This stands on simple straight legs, and has a rustic two-plank top over three deep drawers with brass handles. The wavy curve detailing to the drawers and side panels as well as the quirky old repair to the centre drawer give this piece tremendous character, and the elm has a beautiful, rich patina. As would be expected with something this age, it shows signs of years of wear as well as some repairs to legs and drawers, which just add to its character. There are signs of historical woodworm, but the dresser base has been treated for woodworm/wood rot (as with all our stock) and is solid and structurally sound overall, with the only significant deterioration being to the timber in the interiors of the drawers.
