antique octopus pots
£150 per pot
These beautiful 19th century terracotta pots have extraordinary textured surfaces encrusted with layers of shells and barnacles built up over many years of use underwater. They were widely used to catch octopus across the Mediterranean, especially in Spain and Portugal. Very decorative items and very unusual.
Three available, all slightly different shapes and sizes as they were hand-made. One of them still has a remnant of rope attached.
