Bottles in rustic wooden crate

£160 - Now Sold

This metal banded wooden crate contains 10 glass bottles, all intact. A red stamp is faintly visible on the crate. It looks as if it reads ‘Surany’, which is likely, as Surany is in Slovakia, and this type of bottle was widely used in Eastern Europe for making vinegar. The bottles have heavy bases and narrow necks, and look very effective with a single stem flower in each, but are also an attractive decorative item without.

crate: 66 cm long x 28 cm wide x 19 cm high
