French marble top gueridon table

£525 - Now Sold

A good quality French gueridon table from the Napoleon III period, around 1870. This has a round black marble top on a mahogany pedestal base, with centre bulb and three legs with acanthus leaf carvings and claw feet.

The table is in very good condition for its age, with just a few nicks out of the rim of the marble top and some minor scratches, but no cracks to the stone. There are signs of age on the wood frame beneath the marble top, but nothing substantial.

It’s difficult to tell, because our floor might not be completely level, but we think that the top doesn’t sit perfectly level, as is sometimes the case with pedestal tables, although, if so, this tilt is minimal – a matter of millimetres.

This would be a great hall table, or it would sit very well in a bay window.
