Large Dutch chandelier

An impressive, large eight-arm Dutch chandelier with attractive matt grey/green patina to the metal, this probably dates from the early 20th century. With its sweeping curved arms and decorative scroll detailing, it’s a very elegant light fitting. The distinctive ball on Dutch chandeliers wasn’t just a decorative element – it also served as a weight at the base of the fitting to make it more stable.

The chandelier has been rewired, however all such items, which require hard-wire installation, should be tested and installed by a qualified electrical contractor, as we cannot guarantee their safety once on site. For the same reason we do not supply light bulbs, as the electrical contractor should specify appropriate type.

This is a very heavy item, so a solid ceiling fixing is critical for installation. It has a 29 cm length of chain but no ceiling rose.
